Holistic Foundations for Lifestyle Change
Evidence-Informed Coaching for Whole-Person Wellbeing
Facilitated by Karen Lawson, MD, DABIHM, NBC-HWC
Practicing coaches are increasingly asked to support clients in lifestyle areas such as nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, environment, and connection. Yet many coaches lack a clear, evidence-informed framework for translating public health guidelines into meaningful coaching conversations—while remaining within scope of practice.
This 6-week virtual program equips coaches with foundational, research-informed principles in holistic lifestyle health and practical strategies for integrating them into coaching encounters.
Drawing from current U.S. and World Health Organization guidelines, summary research, and decades of clinical and educational leadership in integrative medicine and health coaching, participants will develop the confidence and clarity to support clients’ behavior change safely and effectively.
Core topic areas include:
1. Moving and Exercise
2. Food, Drink, and Nutrition
3. Sleep, Rest and Recharge
4. The Power of the Mind: Stress and Resilience
5. Environment—home, community, and nature
6. Relationships—The Critical Power of Connection
The systemic impact of stress—and practical strategies for mitigating its effects—will be woven throughout all content areas.
Each session will include:
- Evidence-informed lifestyle foundations
